Welcome to our fundraiser campaign for The Enrichment Center at Merritt Island Mall, a collaborative project between
Diane Dickson, Executive Director, Agency for Life Transformations & Opal Lacentra, Founder, Parent to Parent Connects.
Our Vision for the Enrichment Center
Nestled conveniently just steps from public transportation and not far from three local high schools, our center aims to become a nexus of learning and leisure.
Youth Engagement
Through tailored programming, our center will offer work readiness, self-advocacy training, and vital life skills seminars targeting middle schoolers, high schoolers, and young adults. From job search techniques to interviewing skills and resume building, we prepare
our youth for tomorrow’s challenges, today.
Family Support
We haven’t forgotten the backbone of our community – the families. Planned activities include informational sessions, educational workshops, and ‘parents night out’ events, giving parents well-deserved breaks while their children engage in fun, inclusive activities designed to meet diverse and sensory needs.
Hands-On Opportunities
With over 60 businesses within the mall, our participants will have unprecedented access to job site visits, informational interviews, and on-the-job training, spanning industries from retail and food service to entertainment and professional services.
Innovative Technologies
A leap into the future with virtual reality simulation for pre-apprenticeship training in fields like electrical, HVAC, IT, and cybersecurity, setting a new standard for hands-on learning experiences.
Community Collaboration:
Recognizing our space’s potential, we aim to host community events and allow other groups to utilize the space, fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual support.
